Electrical power distribution systems design
Description
Course overview
This course presents the basics and advances of medium voltage and low voltage network design. It starts from the basics and constructions of medium voltage and low voltage networks and then covers the major theoretical and practical methods for successful implementation of such networks.
Various steps of design are well covered. The course also provides several practical case studies, and the use of the various methods for selecting, and sizing the different bulk equipment used in the medium voltage and low voltage networks. All topics of the course are coupled with relevant numerical practical examples to demonstrate the practical sizing methods for the designing of medium voltage and low voltage networks. Relevant standards are considered in the sizing process.
Key topics include:
• Distribution network & schematic single line diagram
• Feeding systems & load estimation
• Bulk equipment in medium and low voltage networks (Distributor, MVSG,
• Transformers, RMU, MDP, fuse, CB in MV and LV, Pillars and coffrees).
• Cables & Cable Routing.
• Smart Infrastructure.
• Real Practical Projects.
By the end of this course, participants will have a solid understanding of all about medium voltage and low voltage components and how to design and install different electrical systems.
Who should attend?
The course is ideal for:
- Electrical engineers.
- Power system design professionals.
- Project managers oversee low voltage and medium voltage projects.
- Interested in working in engineering consulting offices.
- Interested in starting a career in design, consultant, and construction agencies.
- Anyone seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills in low voltage and medium voltage network design.
